Iso Velvet is blended in-house as Extrait de Parfum, the richest form we make, and sold direct from our own store.
Citrus-forward openings fade fastest at lower concentrations, and that is the gap Extrait strength closes: the lime and pink pepper stay present past the first few minutes instead of thinning into bare skin. Escentric Molecules Escentric 01 retails around $175 for the 100 ml Eau de Toilette at the brand's own US store — that lime-pepper-and-Iso E Super character is what we set out to read. The 50 ml spray is the bottle this page is about; the 10 ml perfume oil sits in the same selector for people who dab instead of spray.
Iso Velvet smells sharp, citrus-bright and quietly woody-musky, built around the lime, pink pepper, orris, hedione and Iso E Super accord verified for Escentric Molecules Escentric 01.
It opens fast and citrus-forward. Lime peel lands first, oily and cold, cut by a raw, faintly metallic crackle of pink pepper that keeps the opening from turning sweet. A thin aldehydic sparkle rides along both, the kind of brightness that reads like freshly opened soda water rather than a floral spray.
Then orris settles in, powdery and faintly waxy, like the inside of a cool wooden drawer that has held clothes for years. Hedione widens the space around it, adding a dewy, almost wet-leaf lift that keeps the powder from turning heavy or dusty.
Underneath, the base turns close to bare skin. Iso E Super carries the accord toward warm, sanded wood; incense adds a thin curl of smoke, mastic brings a dry, resinous edge like sap on hot stone, and muscone rounds everything into something that reads more like clean skin than like a classic perfume base.
Put together, Iso Velvet reads like citrus peel resting on a sunlit windowsill, fading slowly into bare, warm skin.
Iso Velvet is built at the richest concentration in our range, in two formats that both work as complete products.
Escentric Molecules Escentric 01 earns its following because it reads as distinctive rather than generic, and that is what wearers write about.
One wearer switched from a lighter version of the molecule because this composition finally felt like the right balance for their nose. Another describes it as clean and fresh, ideal for layering or wearing alone, and has already finished two full bottles. A third pictures an early spring office day — pencil shavings and citrus cooling into a routine that grows more comfortable the longer it wears. Among the top 213 reviews, skin appears in 27.2%, molecule in 25.8%, and woody in 24.9%.
That clean, citrus-and-skin character is the accord Iso Velvet is built around.
Iso Velvet comes in two formats, and the 50 ml spray is the one to take unless you already know you are an oil person.
| Format | Size | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Extrait de Parfum spray | 50 ml | Your main bottle — Iso Velvet the way it was built, on a shelf and in daily rotation |
| Perfume oil | 10 ml | People who prefer to dab: jacket pocket, desk drawer, travel bag |
Both are chosen in the size selector above, and they wear differently: the spray reaches further, the oil stays close to skin.
Iso Velvet is not the same fragrance as Escentric Molecules Escentric 01, and we would not tell you otherwise. Escentric Molecules made the original and it is the reason this page exists; ours is an OLFx composition, built around the same lime-pepper-Iso E Super accord by our own perfumers.

Different house, different formula, same lane. We are selling you our reading of a character you already know, under our own name.
Iso Velvet is for people whose collection already leans toward clean, citrus-and-skin-musk scents: bright openings that fade into bare skin rather than lingering as sweetness.
If OLFx Iso Pure is already in your rotation, Iso Velvet sits nearby but brighter and sharper, with lime and pink pepper standing in front of the same Iso E Super base. It also suits people who like a powdery edge — OLFx Iso Iris leans further into that orris-like softness — and OLFx Ambroxan Pure swaps the citrus opening for a salt-and-skin ambroxan warmth. The accord wears well from spring through early fall and has no gender.
Molecule 01 is built almost entirely around Iso E Super on its own, while Escentric 01 dresses that same material in a lime, pink pepper and orris accord, per fragrance-community comparisons of the two. Iso Velvet is our Extrait reading of that dressed-up version, in the 50 ml spray.
Iso E Super reacts with individual skin chemistry, and fragrance-community discussions describe it landing as woody, citrus, powdery or barely there depending on the wearer. Our answer to that shared material is Iso Velvet in the 50 ml Extrait spray.
Escentric Molecules markets Escentric 01 as a unisex fragrance, and wearers across fragrance communities generally describe it the same way regardless of who wears it. Iso Velvet follows the same approach: one composition, worn by anyone who likes the accord.
Iso E Super is known for saturating the receptors that detect it, so wearers often stop noticing it on their own skin within the first twenty minutes even while people nearby can still smell it, per fragrance-community discussions of the material. Choose Iso Velvet in the 50 ml Extrait spray for the OLFx reading of that same base.
Escentric 01 is a genuine niche-perfumery staple, and fragrance-community discussions describe it as distinctive enough to draw compliments and different enough from typical citrus scents to be worth a first try. We have not tested another brand's bottle side by side, so we will not score it; what we stand behind is Iso Velvet in the 50 ml spray.
Iso Velvet asks two things of you: whether the citrus-and-Iso-E-Super direction is the one you want, and whether you spray or dab.
If the answer is yes and spray, the 50 ml bottle in the selector at the top of this page is the one. Pick your format, add it to the cart, and wear something that fades from bright citrus into bare, warm skin.
